KiDi has responded to Mr Drew’s comments about losing the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Best Collaboration of the Year award to him.
Ghanaian musician KiDi has responded to Mr. Drew’s remarks suggesting he should have been the winner for the Best Collaboration of the Year award at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Kidi’s ‘Liquor’ which featured Stonebwoy won the best collaboration of the year award beating competition from Mr. Drew, Oseikrom Sikani, Amerado, King Paluta, FRA, and Akwaboah.
However, in a recent interview with 3music, Mr Drew expressed his dismay and asserted that the most impactful song in that category was his song “Case.”
He argued that featuring an unknown artist and achieving significant success should have secured him the award, stating, “No song was bigger or more impactful than ‘Case.’”
Mr Drew believes he deserved to win the award ahead of KiDi because his song “Case” was the biggest song in that category
“I was disappointed not to win the award. No song was bigger or more impactful than ‘Case’ in that category. To feature an artiste that nobody knew and for the song to become that big and change both artistes’ lives is the impact we are looking for. Isn’t that what collaboration means? It didn’t make sense to me,” he said.
Despite his disappointment, Mr Drew mentioned he has no ill feelings toward KiDi for winning the award.
In responding to Mr Drew’s comment, KiDi posted a sarcastic reaction video on X, seemingly mocking Mr. Drew’s comments.
